"The greatest legacy we can leave our children is happy memories." — Og Mandino
In 2014, Tony Burton joined The Burton Group and helped grow the practice, guided by a simple belief: every person has a story (a unique journey of talents, experiences, and dreams), and a truly effective financial plan begins by understanding that story. Tony was inspired by Brenda Burton, who founded the family's insurance business in the late 1990s, and learned early on the importance of hard work, integrity, and treating every client like family. He expanded the practice from its insurance roots into full financial planning and investment advice.
Tony takes the time to get to know each client at a deeper level, designing personalized strategies that reflect their goals rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions. His mission is straightforward: to help clients protect and grow their assets through clear, honest, values-based guidance, empowering them to do great things, live the life they envision, and safeguard what matters most.
Grounded in the same principles that built the family's business, Tony follows a disciplined, risk-adjusted approach to investing. Through diversified asset-allocation and income strategies, he works to balance risk and return so his clients can move forward with clarity and confidence, knowing their plan aligns with their values, needs, and aspirations.
Tony spends his time on his farm, where he raises rabbits, chickens, quail, and a bottle-fed steer named Bruce. He enjoys working the land with his Japanese mini-truck, tinkering with cars and trucks, boating through south Louisiana bayous, and traveling to experience new cultures. In 2019, he launched Cruisin4Causes, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charities and made a lasting impact on the community.
Tony and his wife Rebecca have been married for almost thirty years. Rebecca works for the local parish sheriff's office. Together they have raised five children: twin daughters Anna and Holli, son Chad, and twin sons Matthew and Joseph. Their kids are grown, and Tony and Rebecca are proud grandparents with one more grandchild on the way. Family remains at the heart of everything Tony does, and his greatest joy is watching his family's story continue into the next generation.
Tony serves individuals and families with meaningful assets who want personalized guidance and view their financial journey as part of advancing their Life's Story. He is a strong fit for clients who:
